En el periode que abasta la documentació ambdues parròquies eren sufragànies de Sant Vicenç de Castellbell (municipi de Castellbell i el Vilar), i durant aquest període generen llibres específics per les dues parròquies conjuntament. El 1878 Sant Vicenç de Castellet se segregà de Castellbell, i Sant Pere de Vallhonesta passà a ser sufragània de Sant Vicenç de Castellet
